Granite & Quartz Countertops

On the left we created this island using a non staining ceramic style granite. We did a mitered waterfall edge to create an elegant natural look and flow in this kitchen. We always create our designs to eliminate seams. On the right we have a very large island that was specifically designed to eliminate any seams. An impressive feat from our designer for such a large island. It also incorporates a very unique large raised wood cutting board on the far side. This was designed to be raised slightly above the counter to avoid scratching the counter when cutting, and also allow clearance to be sanded in the future. An example of the kind of thoughtfulness that goes into our work.

So what is the difference between Granite and Quartz?
Granite is 100% natural and is mined. Quartz is manufactured and uses crushed quartz and polymer to create a look similar to real granite.
